Warning signals
If you have had breast cancer and now you have the ok from your doctor and you are starting some exercise there are certain warning signals that you should listen to. Please remember that it is extremely important that you wait until your doctor gives you the all clear. This page is here to advise you of some of the warning signals that you should listen to if you start or return to Pilates.Here are some of the more obvious warning signals that you need to be aware of. If you should experience any of the following you should stop exercising immediately and check with your doctor. CHEST PAIN DIZZYNESS, FEELING FAINT OR VISION PROBLEMSSHORTNESS OF BREATH OR EXTREME FATIGUESUDDENLY FEELING SICK You should wait 24 - 36 hours before you exercise if you have experienced vomiting or diarrhea. Remember also that you should check the range of motion in your affected arm or arms before you begin training. You should wait at least six weeks from your surgery AND have the ok from your doctor. If you have been advised to wear a compression sleeve take it along to your class and work out in a clean environment.

Take your time and don't rush. Learning how to relax and meditate may be something that you can incorporate into your recovery and exercise plan. Setting realistic goals and taking your time will be more beneficial for you in the long run.
